Who is Red’s Disc Jockey?
My name is Denis Savoie. I am Red’s Disc
Jockey.
I have lived in Sudbury, Ontario my entire life with the
exception of three years I spent in Toronto.
My career as a disc jockey was originally born out of
necessity. My older brothers needed someone to play the music
at their parties. So at 14 years old, I was introduced to Disc
Jockeying. It started with just a stereo and two speakers and
has evolved into a state of the art computer system.
While playing music for my brothers parties, I realized I had
a love and fascination for music. I discovered I had a knack
for mixing music.
When I was 16, I performed my first official role as Red’s
Disc Jockey at a basement church dance for teenagers around
the age of 13. As a member of the church committee, my mother,
recommended me for the dance.
After being hired for teen dances at local high schools and
being hired to provide music at the Knights of Columbus for
their monthly teen dances, I decided it was necessary to
obtain high-end stereo equipment to do my job properly.
Shortly after, my Disc Jockeying business started to grow as
friends and relatives would hire me to Disc Jockey their
weddings.
In 1986, I moved to Toronto to attend RCC – Radio College of
Canada to obtain my diploma as an Electronic Engineering
Technician. While living in Toronto, I was hired by the Lions
Club for teen dances, while, at the same time, traveling back
to Sudbury to perform at weddings.
In 1989 I moved back to Sudbury and have continually built my
clientele through word of mouth, providing Disc Jockeying
services for Weddings, Fund Raisers, Anniversaries, Christmas
Parties, Award Banquets, Valentine’s Dances, Beat the Winter
Blues dances, High School Proms, Halloween dances and New
Years Eve dances.
Though I find great joy in Disc Jockeying, it is not my full
time occupation. I have worked for True Steel Security for 15
years. Disc Jockeying has never been “work” for me. I
enjoy being able to make people happy and to know that they’re
able to have a good time because of the music that I play.
In order to serve my clients better, I have recently listed my
business in the white and yellow pages along with the
implementation of my web site
www.redsdj.ca.
With the change in technology, Disc Jockeying has evolved from
using records, to CD’s and now to state of the art computer
programs that store all your music on a computer
hard drive making Disc Jockeying more proficient.
Each wedding, or event,
I Disc Jockey is as unique as the clients themselves. While "one
size fits all" works well for some things, it
definitely does NOT work when it comes to making YOUR
celebration enjoyable, memorable, and exactly what YOU want it
to be.
I look forward to meeting with
you at no cost or obligation to discuss your unique needs,
helping you make an informed decision concerning what will be
the most important and most remembered part of your
celebration. My intent is to show you what I offer in
terms of personalized service, in a casual and friendly way.
Please
call me at (705) 523-5435 or email me through my
"Contact"
page of this website.
I look
forward to working with you.
